About driving instructor:
After working in the accounts/wages department of a local company for a number of years, I was made redundant and this gave me the kick up the backside to do something I enjoyed whilst being my own boss. I decided to train as a driving instructor as I had always wanted to be a teacher and I could work around my sons' schooling.
I trained with the Instructor College and qualified as a DSA Approved driving instructor in August 2006. I proceeded to set up on my own, establishing a creditable reputation throughout Widnes with a group of fantastic students. After 3 years I left for 6 months while I had my second child.
Upon deciding to return to work, I was kindly asked by The Farm school of Motoring to be an instructor at their school, I decided it would be a good opportunity to get back into the routine of teaching.
After receiving great feedback from students, fellow instructors and examiners I decided that I was ready to work for myself again.
In 2009 I completed a 'check test', which is a test all driving instructors must complete in order to make sure they are at the required level for teaching students to drive. Following this test I was awarded the highest grade possible, a grade 6. It gave me the extra confidence needed and knowledge that I give a high quality lesson.
